Naturalshrimp Product Safety Information

At NaturalShrimp we are serious about food safety. We strive to ensure the utmost integrity of our products and the trust of our customers by meeting or exceeding industry and government standards in the growth, harvest and delivery of our shrimp.

Can I be confident that the shrimp I purchase from NaturalShrimp is safe?
Yes. NaturalShrimp meets or exceeds established industry standards for product quality and sanitation. All shrimp sold by NaturalShrimp is produced by NaturalShrimp and is free of pollutants, mercury, chemicals, antibiotics or other additives.

Do I handle NaturalShrimp’s product any differently?
You should handle our shrimp the same way you would handle any perishable seafood item. Always use safe handling practices when preparing any foods to avoid contaminating perishables and non-perishables with germs from other sources.

How should I properly store shrimp?
Put shrimp on ice or in the refrigerator or freezer soon after buying it. If the shrimp will be used within two days after purchase, store it in the refrigerator. Otherwise, wrap it tightly in plastic, foil, or moisture-proof paper and store it in the freezer.

Additional Safe Handling Instructions:
If you’re going to thaw frozen shrimp in the refrigerator, allow eighteen to twenty-four hours per pound. If you wish to thaw your shrimp in cold running water, you may need to allow from one to two hours per pound. Never thaw shrimp in hot water or at room temperature. And once thawed never re-freeze shrimp!
Food products will never last indefinitely in the freezer or refrigerator so plan to use your shrimp shortly after purchase to ensure full enjoyment and flavor.

Do not use the same cutting board or platter with other food items when preparing shrimp. Wash your hands, utensils, cutting boards and even the counters that contact any raw food with soap and warm water.

Cook shrimp while chilled and always to the proper degree of doneness. But watch out! Shrimp cooks quickly and overcooking can toughen the shrimp which definitely affects flavor. Broiling may take 4-5 minutes; Frying: 3 to 5 minutes; Boiling: 2½ to 4 minutes. And always refrigerate leftovers immediately!
